The Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan is a songwriter's most prolific and generous in the rock, so it's not exactly a surprise to find him giving away music for free. The latest initiative group for free music is the club record Smashing Pumpkins - or SPRC - a new project where Corgan will distribute unreleased recordings of its vast vaults. The first two tracks available from the club, demo versions of songs early nineties "Drown" and "Geek USA" can be downloaded free, if you enter your email address on the site.
In a video message to his fans, Billy Corgan has revealed that the project was born to dig through the archives to find bonus for future editions of the catalog of the group. "Part of what we do with the club record is that we will provide some materials that the group has worked to make its decisions," says Corgan. "Although it is slightly less than the decline in loyalty is what we will eventually offer songs to get an idea of what the group was listening at the time."
