Preparing for Hair Dye

Read the directions in each box of hair dye. Although most home hair-dying is similar, each brand has varying directions. Before you do anything else, familiarize yourself with the process of both the black and red hair dyes.

Clear out your bathroom. Remove bath mats from the floor so they don't get ruined by accidental drips. Remove anything important from the bathroom counter. Dying you hair can be messy.

You'll also need a comb to part your hair and clips to hold sections in place.
