How to Get Black Hair Dye Out of Blonde Hair

Dyeing natural blonde hair black produces a drastic color change and can significantly affect your overall appearance. If you've taken the plunge and dyed your hair black only to find that it doesn't suit you, stay calm. Several companies offer hair color removing products to help strip the dye out of your hair without causing much more damage than the dyeing process.
1.
Purchase a hair color remover kit from a beauty supply store or a drug store.
2.
Mix the contents of the kit together in a non-metallic bowl with a tint brush. The kit will contain a color removing product and a developer.
3.
Apply the hair color remover to your hair with the tint brush starting at the roots. Cover all of your hair with the product to ensure that you remove all of the black hair dye.
4.
Pile your hair on top of your head and cover it with plastic wrap or a plastic shower cap. This will hold the hair close to your head and your body heat will help the hair color remover process faster according to Milady's Standard Cosmetology textbook.
5.
Leave the hair color remover on the amount of time indicated on the package directions. This could vary from 15 minutes to nearly one hour.
6.
Rinse your hair in warm, running water to remove all of the hair color remover.
7.
Dry your hair to evaluate the results. You can repeat the process one to two times if necessary. Repeating the process more than this may damage your hair.
